Meet Me When the SunSets

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

You are alone

Alone thou suffers, self-suffocation

Seems to be the antidote; the poison,

Prolific in its fierce dictatorship

Binds, bundles, penetrates your armour, strips

Your mind of guidance, silences your voice

All whilst draining your last droplet of choice.

Unlinked, unchained, unaware of your strength

You spill into spills of your own dispense.

You are alone.

Gone are the momentary blossoms of

Euphoria! What is this futile love?

What is this transactional conviction

That shackles humanity; a traction

Which burns the cauldron, intoxicating

Them with its seductive fumes. Pulsating

With passion you bask in your solitude,

Burning the knots that you had once pursued.

You are alone-

Yet ever so often you discard your

Curmudgeon facade. Inspiration pours,

Imagination soars, you grasp onto

Possibilities you had; you lost through

Your blatant rejection of connection,

Dead affection from sheer misdirection.

Inevitably, the twinkle returns,

Where would you be with one different turn?

You are alone?

The pool of darkness tantalizes you,

Your fire whimpers as you bid adieu.

Absorbed and alone, you give it your whole

Being. Sinking, shrinking down the foxhole.

Your unplanned Fate tails; beckons from behind,

Alas the fear! Your path is intertwined.

An open hand comforts, calls you forward,

Look! The ruling darkness has been slaughtered!

You aren’t alone.
